WIC Foods Update: Soy Milk is now Plant-Based Milk

| by

Families get more plant-based milk options!

WIC food package changes allow families to shop for additional plant-based milk options such as soy, oat, and pea milk.

On Monday, April 6, families who previously saw soy-based beverages listed in their WIC food benefits will now see plant-based milk alternatives instead. The new WIC benefit item allows families to shop for any of the plant-based milk options now offered.

Issues shopping for soy milk with your WIC benefits?

Some families have reported issues when shopping for soy milk with their WIC benefits. California Department of Public Health/WIC is working with vendors to fix this issue. Families are encouraged to try shopping at a different store or shop for their WIC foods without the soy milk.
