Federal Funding Update: WIC Fully Funded for 2026

Federal Funding Update: WIC Fully Funded for 2026

| by

On November 12, 2025, Congress passed a bill to end the government shutdown. The deal fully funds the WIC program through September 30, 2026, ensuring that eligible families can continue to rely on the program for support. The bill also protects the WIC’s fruit and vegetable benefits, rejecting the previous proposals to reduce the amount families receive.

Families should continue to use their WIC benefits and attend their WIC appointments. WIC continues to serve families in California without any disruptions.

What you can do

  • Continue to use your WIC benefits
  • Attend your WIC appointments
  • Stay in contact with your local WIC office
